Help! Need info about 1994 dodge grand caravan, ignition problems.?

My grandmother has a 94 grand caravan that constantly shuts off when she is driving. Just compleatly dies on the highway. Then wont start again for at least 15 min if at all. I had a similar problem with a cavalier, and it was the ignition switch. I have told her this but the mechanic she had look at it keeps saying no its not. She has already paid out over $500 replacing the starter and other things and its back in the shop again. I want to know if anyone knows about ignition switches and how to change them, or if they think this is the problem. I think the mechanic is trying to take g-ma for money (which she doesn't have) Since i had the same problem and it worked for me.Help! Need info about 1994 dodge grand caravan, ignition problems.?
It sounds like the Ignition Control Module, but only a mechanic who is dumb as a brick wouldn't have tried that already. An ignition switch causing a problem like that is kind of rare, and not restarting for a period of time is even more so. If it is at highway speeds, he should be hooking up test equipment to test fuel, spark, and timing while on the highway to see where the cause is, or putting it on a dyno to see if he can recreate the problem in a closed environment. There is no other way to tell what is going on at highway speeds except putting it at highway speeds.Help! Need info about 1994 dodge grand caravan, ignition problems.?
