How do you change the ignition on a 1995 Chevy Beretta?

It is a 4 cyl. and it does have a tilt steering wheel. When I bought the ignition switch I was asked if the car had an airbag. I think it does but I am not sure, it does not say anywhere on the steering wheel that it has one. I need to know how to take off the front of the steering wheel to gain access to the parts under it.How do you change the ignition on a 1995 Chevy Beretta?
Ok the switch is mounted on the bottom of the stearing column. If you are talking about the key lock you have to remove the steering wheel.

If it has an air bag , disconnect the battery, Then wait 10 minets befor removing the air bag. BE VERRY CARFULL NOT TO JAR IT OR BANG ON IT%26gt;

Take off the nut that holds the wheel, next get a steering wheel puller and the tool to remove the anti theft ring. next remove the turning sig switch and the bolt holding the key lock.

Now pull the lock free and install the new one.

IF you do not understand this, it is a good idea to have it done. It is not a week end mechanic job. YOu need special toold and a good working knowledge of the inners of the stearing wheel.How do you change the ignition on a 1995 Chevy Beretta?

it has an airbag...that's what the srs is (supplemental restraint system) don't attemp to do it yourself....it can literally blow up in yout face...take it to a shop...you can be seriously injured.
